I use various therapeutic modalities (cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, etc.), depending on client needs. Issues addressed include anxiety, depression, infertility, life changes, parenting, self-esteem, and stress management. Family and relationship dynamics can be explored, but I don't specialize in couples' or family counseling.
Payment
Private pay counseling sessions are $150.00. Blue Cross and United Healthcare members are responsible for the session co-pay and/or deductible. A credit card must be kept on file.
For counseling sessions not reimbursed by health insurance carriers within 30 days, clients are responsible for full payment, and the credit card on file will be charged. If an insurance carrier reimburses the claim after this time, the charge will be credited. I can resubmit claims as needed.
Confidentiality
There are a few exceptions to counselor/client confidentiality:
· Client (or family member) is at risk of harming her/himself or others
· Suspected abuse of children and vulnerable adults
· Client/parent/guardian gives permission to disclose protected health information
· Parents/guardians of minor clients have the right to access client records
· Client records are subpoenaed by court
Counseling Process
Therapy is designed to help clients resolve key issues, but successful treatment cannot be guaranteed. Counseling often triggers uncomfortable thoughts/feelings, in order to work through them. Positive counseling outcomes depend upon both the counselor’s and client’s efforts.
Cancellation Fee
Cancellations can be made by 9 a.m. the day of the session. If cancellations occur after this time, clients are responsible for the full cost of the session.
